Young Scientists Festival and CHIAMOD Collaborate
On May 6, 2024, Ms. Khatoon Shahabazi, CEO of CHIAMOD, met with the Young Scientists Festival to explore collaborations at the intersection of creative industries, environmental science, and sustainable development.
Chiamod Institute, recognized as an Iranian promoter of sustainable fashion and zero waste principles, plays a leading role in educating and empowering women and youth through the use of recycled materials. This institution, presents a clear vision through translating complex scientific concepts such as resource conservation, pollution reduction, and environmental responsibility into language that resonates with the public. Their approach integrates creativity with a zero-waste philosophy, utilizing recycled fabrics and eco-friendly materials like hemp to reduce environmental impact.
“We believe that a healthy environment is only possible through widespread public awareness and scientific understanding. Art has the unique ability to connect complex scientific concepts to everyday life, and through this, we can drive change,” said Ms. Shabazi.
Representatives from both sides emphasized the importance of knowledge and expertise exchange in advancing social innovation and science promotion. Proposals were discussed for organizing educational events on eco-friendly lifestyles and designing specialized panels on technology, ecosystems, and innovation.
The partnership with the Basic Sciences and Technology UNESCO Club, as the executive arm of the festival, marks a significant step toward expanding knowledge exchange, expertise sharing, and science promotion for sustainable development and raising public awareness about environmental protection. This partnership represents a promising future for science promotion and environmental management in Iran and beyond.
