Professor Shahrebanoo Oryan, a renowned scientific figure honoured in Iran in 2005 and a pioneering expert in Animal Physiology, was hosted by Basic Siences and Technology UNESCO club.
At the beginning of the session, she shared an account of her challenging life journey—from starting her education at the age of five to earning her PhD from the University of Sheffield in England. The discussion then highlighted her groundbreaking efforts in establishing research laboratories, publishing 405 articles in prestigious international and national journals, and founding the Neurophysiology Ph.D. program at Kharazmi University.
Analyzing the status of women in basic sciences, Professor Oryan emphasized:
“We still have a long way to go to achieve equal opportunities, but the determination of the new generation and their passion for knowledge paint a promising future.”
Ultimately, she stands as an influential female scientist in the field of Animal Physiology.
