A meeting of university presidents from different countries and ambassadors hosted by the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation and a dinner banquet was held on Tuesday, July 3, coinciding with the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the University of Tehran and the 1,757-year tradition of higher education in Iran, in the Negarestan Garden.
At this meeting, Dr. Mohammad Moghimi, President of the University of Tehran, welcomed all the guests and spoke about international cooperation during his tenure.
Dr. Moghimi announced the establishment and recruitment of students in the Najaf and Georgia branches of the University of Tehran and called for expanding the university’s scientific interactions with other countries.
He acknowledged the history of the tradition of higher education in Iran and the science-loving culture of the people of Iran, and acknowledged that scientific communication can break the boundaries of political differences and take steps towards development and sustainable peace.
Eng. Ebrahim Jamili, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation, introduced the Young Scholars and Scientists Festival as one of the country’s top festivals and announced the festival’s readiness to cooperate with all universities worldwide.
The Chairman of the Policy Council of the Young Scholars and Scientists Festival considered scientific communication to be one of the most important activities of the international section of the festival and called for the assistance of the activists present in the festival’s judging and policy-making processes.
In the end, he appreciated the cooperation of the University of Tehran, especially the President of the University of Tehran, in holding this festival.
At the end of the meeting, the University of Tehran statue and medallion were presented to ambassadors and representatives of universities from Venezuela, Iraq, China, Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Bolivia, Malaysia, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, and… present at the meeting.
