According to the Secretariat of the Festival of Young Thinkers and Scientists, the UNESCO Basic Sciences and Technology Club was established on May 1, 2022.
Eng. Ebrahim Jamili, the Secretary General of the Club, considered the promotion of science a national duty.
He further noted: This club was established to create motivation and improve the level of knowledge and public insight and to promote education, the field of basic sciences and the dissemination of authentic Iranian and Islamic principles based on the cultural goals set forth in the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the frameworks of the UNESCO-Iran National Commission, with a commitment to comply with national regulations and criteria governing the establishment of UNESCO clubs and in accordance with the anticipated specifications and conditions.
The Secretary General of the Basic Sciences and Technology Club reminded: The main goal of the Basic Sciences and Technology Club is to carry out activities and measures in line with sustainable development and relying on the support of basic sciences. In order to achieve this goal, a series of projects and activities will be carried out by elites, club members, and especially basic science students in the country, as well as ordinary people in society, with the financial, administrative, and organizational support of the Science Club. Familiarizing the public with the importance of the role of basic sciences in life and participating in applied education and business development in this field are among the most important issues. Supporting the institutionalization of the development of service and industrial activities of the community based on scientific principles, supporting the more active role of educated women in the field of basic sciences in the country, and building a culture and applying basic sciences in solving society’s issues and problems will be among the main activities of the Basic Science and Technology Club.
