During the Policy Council meeting of the 9th Young Scientists Festival, held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, Dr. Fartousi, Secretary-General of the UNESCO National Commission in Iran, officially announced the Commission’s support for the upcoming festival.
Emphasizing the importance of inclusivity, Dr. Fartousi proposed two key initiatives: awarding a special prize to participants with special needs and honoring professors and researchers who have contributed impactful ideas and actions toward empowering these individuals.
With the revival of the “International Committee on Basic Sciences,” the meeting also highlighted plans for deeper collaboration between the committee and the festival. This committee is expected to offer valuable resources to strengthen the festival’s scientific mission. Additionally, it was proposed that the Basic Sciences and Technology Club formally join the network of UNESCO associations and clubs.
Another significant proposal discussed was the potential partnership between the Vice Presidency for Women and Family Affairs and the festival, aimed at enhancing opportunities for women in science and technology.
Representing Dr. Behrouz Azar, Deputy for Women and Family Affairs, Dr. Ketabchi expressed the department’s readiness to support young women and girls participating in the festival.
With these endorsements and partnerships, the 9th Young Scientists Festival is poised to become a unique platform for showcasing the talents of Iran’s youth and fostering meaningful engagement with leading global scientific institutions.
