UNESCO has opened nominations for the UNESCO-Uzbekistan Beruniy International Prize, a new global award recognizing outstanding scientific research on the ethics of artificial intelligence (AI).
Established in partnership with the government of Uzbekistan, the prize aims to promote ethical AI development, foster international cooperation, and encourage scientific excellence in this rapidly evolving field.
Named after the renowned 11th-century scholar Abu Rayhan Beruniy, the award will be presented in Samarkand, highlighting Central Asia’s growing role in global tech and science discourse.
Researchers, institutions, and organizations working on AI ethics are invited to submit nominations.
