Developing the festival’s international activities in the East African region

East Africa is the closest region in Africa to Iran and is therefore considered a suitable market for interaction with Iran.

Therefore, on June 8, 2023, a joint and online meeting was held between the Secretariat of the Festival of Young Thinkers and Scientists and the Iranian House of Innovation and Technology in Kenya, with the presence of an expert from the Kenya iHit Center, (the Executive Director of the seventh edition of the festival) and (the Festival’s Public Relations Secretary).

The Executive Director of the seventh edition of the festival considered the purpose of establishing the above club to carry out activities and measures in line with sustainable development and relying on the support of basic sciences.

Dr. Mudab reminded: Some of the idea creators and start-up businesses that participate in the international section of the festival need to be present in innovation centers in order to develop their activities and use their facilities and experiences.

Then, the expert from the Kenya iHit Center, after introducing this innovation complex; He listed the strong presence of Iranian companies and startups in the East African market, hosting Kenyan companies and startups, utilizing the capacities of Iranians residing in this country, providing consulting services, mentoring, marketing and business to Iranian and Kenyan companies as among the long-term goals of the Iranian Innovation and Technology House in Kenya.

At the end of the meeting and considering the services provided in this center; including: shared and dedicated workspace, cooperation in the process of recruiting local workers, financial interactions, etc., it was decided: After the conclusion of the memorandum of understanding and in order to increase joint cooperation, plans for holding practical courses and events should be prepared and reviewed in future meetings.
