Based on the resolution of the Board of Trustees and to honor the members of the university faculty who have competence, scientific authority and outstanding cultural personality at the national, regional and international levels; they are selected and introduced according to the instructions for selecting “Distinguished Professors”.
One of the conditions for obtaining the position of Distinguished Professor of the University of Tehran is having 10 years of full-time service experience at the University of Tehran after being promoted to the rank of professor.
After reviewing the quantitative and qualitative indicators, the Distinguished Professor Selection Council, chaired by the President of the University of Tehran, makes a decision on the professors’ distinguished professorship.
Accordingly, in July 2023, Dr. Mahmoud Kamrei (the Honorable Chairman of the Festival of Young Thinkers and Scientists) was introduced as “Distinguished Professors” of the University of Tehran.
Dr. Ali Akbar Mousavi Movahedi in the 2000s and Dr. Ali Akbar Sabouri in the 2010s were recognized as distinguished professors from the Biochemistry and Biophysics Research Center of the University of Tehran and by the respected members of the Policy Council of the Young Scholars and Scientists Festival.
