Speech by Mahmoud Kamrei, President of the 7th Festival of Young Scholars and Scientists
According to the Public Relations Report of the Festival of Young Scholars and Scientists, Mahmoud Kamrei, President of the Festival of Young Scholars and Scientists, referring to the purpose of holding this festival, said: The Festival of Young Scholars and Scientists is held to support basic sciences. This festival is supported by the private sector, namely the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation.
Referring to the importance of creating hope and employment and moving on the technological path, Dr. Kamrei emphasized: The Festival of Young Scholars and Scientists is held with the aim of supporting the ideas of young people and start-up businesses and improving the scientific status of the country.
Regarding the number of ideas received, he said: In the Festival of Young Scholars and Scientists, we received 335 ideas, 284 of which were from young people and idea-generating teams, 33 of whom made it to the next stage after strict and heavy judging. In the business section, 51 works were received, 10 of which advanced to the second stage, and 10 titles advanced to the next stage. In the young exemplary professor section, 52 people expressed their readiness for evaluation, 22 of which advanced to the next stage.
Regarding the prizes awarded by the festival, the festival director stated: 12 ideas will be awarded cash prizes, each of which will be awarded 100 million Tomans, 10% of which will be in the form of cash and 90% in the form of support.
The vice president of education at the University of Tehran added: This year, an exemplary young professor named Hamed Daemi, a member of the faculty of the Royan Research Institute, was honored at the Thinkers and Scientists Festival and will receive a gift of 200 million Tomans, and the total number of prizes awarded is 2 billion and 400 million Tomans, which are supported by the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation.
