Prof. Mahmoud Kamarei, who serves as the President of YSF, has been named a distinguished professor at the University of Tehran. This prestigious recognition is granted to faculty members with significant cultural influence at national and international levels. To become a distinguished professor, candidates need at least a decade of full-time professional experience at the university and must achieve a minimum of 250 points in research, technology, and the arts after attaining the rank of professor. A council, led by the University of Tehran’s President, assesses candidates for this honor based on qualitative variations. Distinguished professors enjoy privileges such as retirement postponement and special promotion ranks. In July 2023, Prof. Kamarei, along with other notable individuals, was selected as a distinguished professor at the University of Tehran, joining the ranks of distinguished professors from YSF in the past.
